People are curious about the cost of sailing holidays, how much does it actually cost and can you afford it. Some people think that you have to be super wealthy or win the lottery to be able to go on a sailing holiday while, in fact, sailing holiday can sometimes be cheaper than staying in a hotel.
In this blog, we will take a closer look at the costs of cruising in Croatia on a smaller boat or a catamaran.
What can you expect to pay?
The base price of a charter is how much it will cost you to rent a particular yacht, normally for a period of seven days. This cost will normally not include any additional costs, so it's important to consider everything else you may have to pay on top of this base fee such as crew costs, marina fees, fuel, food and other additional expenses.
Renting a yacht can costs anything from €1,000 to €1,000,000 and more weekly. Everything depends on your taste and budget you have.
In this blog, we will do two budgets for your reference - renting a smaller budget sailing boat and renting a smaller catamaran.

What affects the price of a yacht?
The base price of a yacht is affected by number of conditions:
- The yacht itself is the biggest factor in how much you pay to charter (size, year of construction, shipyard, crewed or not).
- Dates when you wish to charter (low seasons means lower prices, while high season means higher prices).
- Dates when you decide to book a yacht. Normally you will get between 5 and 15% discount for bookings made before December 31st for the following year.

Please note that the rental price of the boat is changing up to 10 times depending which week in the season you decide to rent out the boat.
Our preferred choice for a sailing holiday in Croatia if you are looking into a smaller budget but great comfort is Lagoon 380. Lagoon 380 is a beautiful catamaran, the smallest of the Lagoon range, this boat really gives you a warm feeling and we love it.
